West Ham take on Chelsea in Saturday's London derby.

In an early kickoff London derby, West Ham aim to halt their home losing streak against Chelsea, who are seeking consecutive victories to ignite their season at the London Stadium this Saturday.

West Ham United

West Ham were close to picking up successive Premier League defeats, but a stoppage-time goal from Danny Ings, who came off the bench in the 82nd minute, helped the Hammers collect a point.

Before the leveller, a well-worked Fulham goal finished off by Raúl Jiménez left West Ham trailing by a goal midway into the first half. On Saturday, Julen Lopetegui’s side will be looking to put their patchy start to the season to bed, having won only once in four opening games.

With four points, West Ham are seated in 14th place just before Match Week 5, when they welcome Chelsea for Saturday’s London derby. However, with back-to-back home defeats, the Hammers remain on the verge of three successive home losses should they fail to impress against the Blues this weekend.

In another huge blow to West Ham’s already wavering confidence, the hosts have lost more than half of their 56 games against Chelsea. A 4—2—3—1 formation with Michail Antonio in attack is expected.

Niclas Füllkrug failed to make the squad last weekend against the Cottagers following a calf injury he picked up while on international duty. He remains in doubt for this early kickoff clash.

Chelsea

A late goal by Christopher Nkunku in the 86th minute, who came off the bench to combine with fellow substitute and debutant Jadon Sancho, helped Chelsea earn their second win of the season in the 1-0 victory over Bournemouth.

The Cherries had the opportunity to take the lead from the penalty spot. However, a fabulous save by Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez prevented Evanilson from earning his maiden goal for Bournemouth.

It was the first time Chelsea picked up a shutout away from home in 18 such games. The Blues, currently in 8th place with seven points, will be keen to follow up last weekend’s victory with another when they make the short trip to the London Stadium.

A victory against West Ham would not only leave the Blues with back-to-back victories but also with five away wins in a row for the first time since December 2021 under former Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel.

A 4-2-3-1 formation with Nicolas Jackson, who came close to finding a goal against West Ham last weekend, is expected in attack. Enzo Fernández is in doubt for this London derby, while as many as five players, including Malo Gusto, are ruled out.
