Bournemouth in search of back-to-back victories as Chelsea visits.

After a dramatic last-minute comeback against Everton to secure their first win of the season, Bournemouth host Chelsea at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, aiming for their first back-to-back victories under the lights.

AFC Bournemouth

A comeback 3-2 win despite a two-goal deficit with only three minutes of regular time left to play saw Bournemouth earn their maiden win of the season last time out. Two goals in stoppage time after Semenyo struck in the 87th minute put an end to successive draws, moving the Cherries into 8th place on the Premier League table with five points.

With Liverpool up next after the weekend’s encounter with the Blues, earning at least a point here would be ideal. A win would not only leave Bournemouth with back-to-back victories but it would also see the Cherries go unbeaten in four opening games. However, Bournemouth are winless in five Premier League meetings against Chelsea.

Andoni Iraola placed Evanilson at the top of the 4-2-3-1 formation for the game against Everton and is expected to do so again against Chelsea. The Cherries will be without Tyler Adams and Enes Ünal, who are sidelined with injuries. Additionally, Philip Billing is in doubt following a back injury.

Chelsea

Chelsea were only able to pick up a point in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace just before the international break. Nicolas Jackson struck five minutes before the half-hour mark after an easy tap in from close range to put Chelsea in front. A fabulous right-footed effort from Eberechi Eze restored parity for Crystal Palace.

The draw left Chelsea with 4 points, and placed them in 11th place on the Premier League table. Climbing up the table remains the prime objective for Enzo Maresca’s side following the break.

Fortunately, a fine away record against the Cherries has seen Chelsea suffer only one defeat in seven Premier League games against Bournemouth. Victory over the hosts on Saturday would hand Chelsea a four-game unbeaten run on the road for the first time since April 2022.

Meanwhile, Enzo Maresca is expected to deploy a 4-2-3-1 formation with Nicolas Jackson in attack. Reece James is ruled out along with three others, including Malo Gusto, while Cole Palmer is a doubt for the weekend’s trip to Bournemouth due to muscle fatigue.
