Wolfsburg in search of back-to-back victories as Frankfurt visits.

As Wolfsburg welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to the Volkswagen Arena, Die Wölfe aim to continue their impressive record against the Eagles in hopes of securing back-to-back victories in the Bundesliga.

VfL Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg picked up their first league win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Bundesliga debutants Holstein Kiel. Maximilian Arnold and Sebastiaan Bornauw scored to secure the win for Die Wölfe.

Ralph Hasenhüttl's side rose to 7th in the table with three points. "We are very happy with the outcome of the game. I am proud of my team for this serious performance," Hasenhüttl said after the win.

Wolfsburg were in action during the break, picking up a 2-1 win over Hannover 96 in a friendly game. Next up for Die Wölfe is a home game against Frankfurt, a team they have beaten more often than any other side in the Bundesliga, barring Stuttgart and Gladbach.

The hosts are currently unbeaten in six games against the visitors, marking a longer run than they have against any other side. In addition, Die Wölfe have scored in each of their last 23 Bundesliga games against the Eagles, showcasing their longest run against any other Bundesliga side.

However, the team from Saxony has lost five of their last seven league matches on home soil, conceding three goals in each of those defeats. Patrick Wimmer, who was active for Austria during the break, is expected to lead the line as Hasenhüttl adopts a 4-2-3-1 formation.

As many as six players are sidelined with injuries for the hosts, including Lovro Majer, Lukas Nmecha, and Bartosz Bialek. This poses a challenge for Hasenhüttl as he navigates through upcoming matches.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt recorded a convincing 3-1 win over Hoffenheim just before the break, thanks to goals from Hugo Ekitiké, Hugo Larsson, and ex-Wolfsburg attacker Omar Marmoush. This victory propelled the Eagles to 9th place in the Bundesliga table with three points from one win, no draws, and one loss.

"I felt that we had the game under control," commented Dino Toppmöller following the win. Frankfurt will now head out on the road to face Wolfsburg, aiming to end a five-match away winless streak, which consists of one draw and four losses.

All eyes will be on Egyptian forward Marmoush, who has contributed to 20 goals in 31 league matches since joining Frankfurt from Wolfsburg last summer. Marmoush, who recently scored in Egypt's 3-0 win over Cape Verde, will feature in Toppmöller’s 4-3-3 formation alongside Mario Götze and Ekitiké, who also scored for France U21.
