Wolfsburg in search of back-to-back victories as Frankfurt visits.

Wolfsburg, fresh off a win against Holstein Kiel, host Eintracht Frankfurt at Volkswagen Arena this Saturday, aiming to extend their unbeaten run against the Eagles.

VfL Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg picked up their first league win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Bundesliga debutants Holstein Kiel. Maximilian Arnold and Sebastiaan Bornauw secured the win for Die Wölfe with goals within the first half. Ralph Hasenhüttl's side rose to 7th on the table with three points.

“We are very happy with the outcome of the game. I am proud of my team for this serious performance,” Hasenhüttl said after the win.

During the international break, Wolfsburg were in action and recorded a 2-1 win over Hannover 96 in a friendly game. Next, they face Frankfurt at home on Saturday, a team they have beaten more frequently than any other side in the Bundesliga, except Stuttgart and Gladbach.

Die Wölfe are currently unbeaten in six games against Frankfurt, a run of form better than against any other side. Additionally, they have scored in each of their last 23 Bundesliga games against the Eagles.

However, Wolfsburg have struggled on home soil recently, losing five of their last seven league matches, conceding three goals in each of those defeats. Patrick Wimmer, who was in action for Austria during the break, is expected to lead the line in Hasenhüttl's 4-2-3-1 formation.

As many as six players are sidelined with injuries for the hosts, including Lovro Majer, Lukas Nmecha, and Bartosz Bialek.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt recorded a convincing 3-1 win over Hoffenheim just before the break, thanks to goals from Hugo Ekitiké, Hugo Larsson, and ex-Wolfsburg attacker Omar Marmoush. The victory took the Eagles to 9th place on the BL table with three points (1W, 0D, 1L).

"I felt that we had the game under control," commented Dino Toppmöller after the win. Frankfurt will set out on the road to take on Wolfsburg, aiming to end a five-match away winless run (0W, 1D, 4L).

All eyes will be on Egyptian forward Marmoush, who has contributed to 20 goals across 31 league games since signing for the Eagles from Wolfsburg last summer. Marmoush, who scored in Egypt's 3-0 win over Cape Verde, will be part of the attacking trio in Toppmöller’s 4-3-3 formation, alongside Mario Götze and Ekitiké, who also scored for France U21.
