Tottenham hoping to make fifth-place finish.

Already-relegated Sheffield United aim to end their Premier League stint on a high note as they clash with Spurs, who are vying to secure their 5th place standing, at Bramall Lane this Sunday at 16:00 GMT+1.

Sheffield United

Already-relegated Sheffield United will take on Spurs in the final game of the season, coming off the back of five defeats in a row, including last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Everton.

With an immediate return to the Championship just one game away, Sheffield have only accumulated 16 points over the course of the season. Nevertheless, the Blades, sitting at the bottom of the table, will be looking to bow out of the Premier League with a win when they welcome Spurs on Sunday.

Victory here would leave the hosts with a four-game winning streak on a Match Day 38 fixture, having won their final league game in each of the last three seasons. They last did so in more consecutive campaigns between 1969–70 and 1973–74, with the fourth game in that run coming against Tottenham.

However, the Blades, who will make their exit with the worst defensive record, having conceded a record 101 Premier League goals, have lost their last three league games against Tottenham.

A 3-5-2 formation with Cameron Archer and Ben Brereton Díaz in attack is expected for the season’s finale. As many as eight players, including Rhys Norrington-Davies, will not take part in Sunday’s game against Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham are currently in 5th place with 63 points, aiming to retain their position despite pressure from 6th-placed Chelsea, who have 60 points and a better goal difference.

Spurs recently slipped to 4th place due to a 2-0 loss to Manchester City, who are on the brink of a record fourth consecutive Premier League title. This midweek defeat means the Lilywhites have only one victory in their last five games as they approach the final match of the season against the Blades.

Tottenham clinched a 3-1 victory in their last away league game against Sheffield United and could achieve back-to-back away wins over the already relegated side for the first time since December 1975. Additionally, Spurs have been successful in their final league game in 10 of the last 13 seasons.

Ange Postecoglou is expected to deploy a 4-2-3-1 formation with Son Heung-Min leading the attack. "There are a few sore bodies, but nothing that will make any changes to the personnel from the other night, so it'll likely be a similar squad for Sunday's game," Postecoglou stated ahead of Tottenham’s final game, indicating a resemblance to the midweek lineup.
