Top-four-chasing Roma take on second-place-seeking Juventus.

Roma, reeling from a midweek defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, return to Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night to face Juventus, aiming to close the gap on fourth-placed Bologna and secure back-to-back home wins over the Old Lady for the first time since 2017.

Roma

AS Roma, who suffered a 2-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in Thursday's Europa League semi-final clash, are back on domestic soil for Sunday’s fixture with Juventus. "We were up against a strong side who make it hard to get back into the game if you fall behind due to the way they manage possession," Daniele De Rossi said after seeing his side suffer a midweek defeat.

The Giallorossi are in 5th place on the Serie A table following last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Napoli. It was the club’s second draw in five league games [DWLWD], leaving Roma with 59 points [17W, 8D, & 9L].

Despite anticipating a difficult fixture against Juventus this weekend, Roma will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on the Old Lady. The home side hopes to close in on 4th-placed Bologna [64 points], who earned a point in a goalless draw against Torino on Friday.

A victory on Sunday for Roma would leave the hosts with back-to-back home wins over Juventus for the first time since 2017. The last time Roma played host to the Old Lady, they picked up a 1-0 win.

A 4—3—3 formation with Tammy Abraham, Stephan El Shaarawy, and Tommaso Baldanzi in attack is expected. Diego Llorente and Leandro Paredes will rejoin the squad after missing the Napoli game due to suspension.

Juventus

Third-placed Juventus, who remain in the race for a second-place finish, will be looking to put an end to a three-game winless run when they take on Roma this weekend.

The Old Lady, who are coming off the back of a goalless draw with Milan, have 65 points and remain on the verge of a league double over Roma, having won the reverse fixture 1-0 back in December 2023. However, having drawn each of their last three Serie A matches against Torino, Cagliari, and Milan, Juventus could equal a record four draws in a row last seen between February and March 2012, under Antonio Conte.

Juventus will take part in another training session on Saturday afternoon before leaving for Rome. Massimiliano Allegri is expected to address the media at a pre-match press conference at 10:00 [GMT+1].

A 3-5-2 formation with Dušan Vlahović and Federico Chiesa in attack may be seen again. Mattia De Sciglio and Alex Sandro are both ruled out due to injuries, while Kenan Yıldız is in doubt, having trained separately from the group earlier in the week.
