PSG keen to extend season-long unbeaten run in Ligue 1.
Paris Saint-Germain, aiming to extend their unbeaten streak, host a determined RC Lens side at the Parc des Princes in a Saturday clash that promises to be a showdown of strategic brilliance and tactical resilience.
Paris Saint Germain
Ligue 1 table toppers PSG continued their fine form with a convincing 3-0 win over Marseille last weekend. Goals from João Neves, Leonardo Balerdi's own goal, and Bradley Barcola ensured PSG secured two wins in a row. With the win, the 12-time French champions are the only side to stay unbeaten this season, having accumulated 23 points from nine games.
Les Parisiens boast the best attack in the league, scoring 28 goals while conceding only eight. Although they have dropped four points in their last five league games, PSG have triumphed in all home matches this season. They are aiming to remain undefeated after 10 games of a Ligue 1 campaign for the 8th time since 2011/12.
Only Nice and Monaco have achieved a similar feat over this period. Moreover, PSG have not lost any of their last eight Ligue 1 meetings with Lens, achieving five wins and three draws, dating back to the 2007/08 season.
For this weekend's game, Manager Luis Enrique will be without Presnel Kimpembe, Lucas Hernández, and Gonçalo Ramos due to injuries. Barcola, Kang-In Lee, and Ousmane Dembélé are expected to lead the line in a 4-3-3 formation, while Beraldo is suspended.
Lens
Lens' eight-game unbeaten start to the season ended last weekend with a 0-2 defeat to Lille. The Blood and Gold are currently fifth on the table, having secured 14 points from nine games.
Lens have won only one of their last seven Ligue 1 matches, with a victory against newly promoted AS Saint-Étienne on October 19. So far this season, Will Still's side have scored nine goals and conceded six.
In their recent encounters with PSG, Lens have recorded just one victory, a 3-1 win on January 1, 2023. They will be hoping to secure three points at Parc des Princes for the first time since November 2006.
Boasting the best defensive record inside the top five, Lens is expected to line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation with M’Bala Nzola leading the attack. However, they will need to manage without Jimmy Cabot, Martín Satriano, and potentially Andy Diouf and Przemysław Frankowski due to injuries.
Furthermore, Facundo Medina will be unavailable due to suspension following an accumulation of yellow cards, adding to the challenges faced by the northern club.
