Lyon keen to extend four-game unbeaten run.

Lyon aims to extend their unbeaten streak against a high-flying Brest side in a crucial match at Groupama Stadium this Sunday evening.

Olympique Lyonnais

Lyon [LWWDW] are currently in 10th place with 38 points [11W, 5D, & 12L], following a comeback 3-1 win over Nantes last weekend. Matthis Abline's early goal [16'] put Les Gones behind, but they turned the tide in the second half.

Alexandre Lacazette [75'] and Malick Fofana [77'] scored within two minutes, and Gift Orban [90'+7] completed the comeback during stoppage time. Les Gones have been in great form since February, picking up 22 points in the last nine games [7W, 1D, 1L], the highest among all teams in that period.

Next, they face Brest at home, a side that has never beaten them in 11 meetings at Groupama Stadium [7W, 4D, 0L]. Lyon have only played more home games against Ajaccio [14] without losing in the top-flight.

However, Pierre Sage's side have struggled at home this season, winning only four of their 14 home games in Ligue 1 [4W, 4D, 6L], their fewest at this stage since the 1966/67 campaign. In addition, Lyon have failed to score in their last two games against Brest in Ligue 1, as many as in their first 22 meetings in the top-flight.

A 4—3—3 formation with Lacazette, Ernest Nuamah, and Saïd Benrahma in attack is expected for Sunday's clash. Duje Caleta-Car will be unavailable due to a one-match ban for accumulated yellow cards, while Orel Mangala is a doubt.

Brest

Brest held on to second place after earning a hard-fought 4-3 win over FC Metz last time out. The Pirates, who have won back-to-back games, are now on 53 points heading into the weekend’s game against Lyon.

Brest are one point ahead of third-placed Monaco, hence any slip-up could see them lose their place. A win for the Pirates on Sunday will see them set their new highest tally in a single campaign since they had 54 points in 1986/87.

Eric Roy's side has been in incredible form since November, losing just one of their last 17 games. With just six games left to play, the 56-year-old is hoping to steer his side into a finish in UCL qualifying places.

The 4—1—3—2 with Martin Satriano and Steve Mounie in attack against Metz could be seen again against Lyon. Meanwhile, Kenny Lala and Jonas Martin are both suspended due to an excessive number of yellow cards.
