Luton looking to exit bottom three in clash with relegation-immune Everton.

Reeling from three consecutive defeats, Luton Town desperately seeks a victory to escape the relegation zone as they host Everton, who are riding high on recent successes, at Kenilworth Road this Friday evening.

Luton Town

Luton Town will be looking to lift themselves out of the relegation zone on Friday when they face Everton in front of the home fans. The Hatters were left in 18th place last weekend after a 2-1 loss to Wolves handed them their third consecutive defeat in the Premier League. This Friday’s clash against Everton, who secured Premier League safety last weekend, could see Luton leapfrog fellow relegation-threatened Nottingham, who are in 17th place, by temporarily leading by two points.

Luton, who have 25 points after 6 wins, 7 draws, and 22 losses, head into the weekend’s game against Everton with the second-worst defensive record in the competition. Everton, who have scored a total of five goals while keeping a clean sheet in all three games, will pose a significant challenge. However, a win for Luton would not only increase their chances of remaining in the Premier League but also leave them with a league double over Everton, following a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture.

It would also leave the Hatters with three wins in a row over the Toffees, following a 2-1 victory over Everton in the FA Cup in January. Rob Edwards is expected to leave Carlton Morris at the top of the familiar 3—4—2—1 formation, while Elijah Adebayo, who made a return off the bench last weekend after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, could start from the get-go on Friday.

Everton

Everton secured a Premier League place after last weekend’s 1-0 win in the decisive bottom-table clash against Brentford. It was the club’s third win in a row, a run that also saw Everton pick up a 2-0 win over Liverpool in the Merseyside derby and a similar result against Nottingham Forest.

The win leaves the Blues in 15th place, two places above 17th, where they finished the season last term. Everton have 36 points ahead of Friday’s clash, where they would be looking to pick up four wins in a row despite anticipating a difficult trip.

[Luton] are still fighting; they’re still working. We have to go there with the right attitude,’’ Sean Dyche said on Wednesday.

A 4—4—1—1 formation with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who missed last weekend’s 1-0 win over the Bees due to illness, is expected. Calvert-Lewin returned to training along with Seamus Coleman and Beto ahead of Friday's trip to Luton Town.

Meanwhile, Vitaliy Mykolenko, who picked up an ankle injury in the 2-0 win over Liverpool, is ruled out for the rest of the season.
