Liverpool back in Premier League after UCL win over AC Milan.

After a thrilling midweek comeback against AC Milan in the Champions League, Liverpool aim to rediscover their Premier League form as they host Bournemouth in what promises to be an intriguing Anfield encounter.

Liverpool

A comeback 3-1 win over AC Milan in their maiden fixture of the revamped UEFA Champions League helped Liverpool overcome the shocking 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest last time out in the Premier League.

Pulisic [3’] had given Milan the lead at the San Siro before Liverpool seized the game by the scruff of its neck to produce two identical unmarked headers in the first half by Ibrahima Konaté [23’] and Virgil Van Dijk [41’]. Dominik Szoboszlai [67’] then completed the comeback.

"I think that was the positive; to be 1-0 down, you are always wondering how the team reacts," Arne Slot told Amazon.

Liverpool [WWWL], with 9 points, dropped two spots down the table into 4th place after the defeat to Nottingham. Now Slot would be keen to see the Reds extend their midweek form to the weekend when they host Bournemouth at Anfield, a side whom they have defeated in nine of their ten meetings in the Premier League [9W, 0D, 1L].

However, with two defeats in their last five home games, Slot would be wary of the Cherries who pulled off a miraculous 3-2 comeback against Everton just before the international break.

A 4—2—3—1 with Jota in attack is expected. Luis Díaz, who came off the bench in the midweek clash against AC Milan, is expected to return to the starting lineup in attack alongside Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah.

Harvey Elliot has a broken foot and remains ruled out from taking part in this weekend’s clash.

AFC Bournemouth

Bournemouth had come close to earning a point against the Blues last weekend. Two substitutes from the Chelsea bench, including the goal scorer Christopher Nkunku [86'], teamed up to produce the only goal of the game.

The 1-0 loss had Bournemouth tumble into 11th place with 5 points after four games [1W, 2D, 1L]. While the Cherries would be eager to bounce back to winning ways, an unlikely win over Liverpool remains a tall order.

Bournemouth [DDWL] have lost 9 of their 10 away games against Liverpool in all competitions. They have won only one of their last seven Premier League games [1W, 2D, 4L].

Andoni Iraola is expected to leave Evanilson, who failed to convert from the penalty spot against the Blues, in attack when he deploys the 4—2—3—1 formation. The Cherries will be without Tyler Adams and Dango Ouattara for this fixture against Liverpool.
