Newly crowned Italian champions Inter eyeing 28-game unbeaten run.

Newly crowned Serie A champions Inter Milan aim to extend their impressive unbeaten streak as they host Torino at San Siro this Sunday.

Inter

Newly crowned Serie A champions Inter will make their first appearance since picking up the league title in Monday’s Derby della Madonnina, which ended in a 2-1 win against Milan. Celebrations followed right after the game, which saw Milan finish with nine men while Inter finished with ten.

The Nerazzurri picked up their 20th Serie A title with 86 points, following goals from former Milan center-back Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram. "Wow, 20. What a number! 20 Scudetti. 116 years, and now finally we are here," Inter's President Zhang said after the milestone Scudetto victory.

Inter, who are unbeaten in their last 27 league matches, won the league title with five games remaining. Sunday’s meeting against Torino holds little importance except for extending their unbeaten league run to 28 games.

They have won eight of their last nine Serie A matches against Torino, keeping a clean sheet in the last three. A victory on Sunday would leave Inter with five home wins in a row over Torino.

A 3-5-2 formation with Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram in attack is expected from Simone Inzaghi this weekend. Denzel Dumfries is suspended for the weekend’s game after picking up a red card in Monday’s derby.

Torino

Torino, on the other hand, will be looking to put an end to a three-game winless streak when they take on Inter.

Last weekend, they earned a point in a goalless draw against Frosinone, leaving the Granata in 10th place with 46 points. The Bull will be aiming to return from San Siro as happy travelers.

Torino will hope to take advantage of Inter’s celebratory mood, following the Nerazzurri's recent Scudetto win. However, Il Toro have lost their last three games against Inter by a combined scoreline of 5-0, failing to score any goals in those matches.

Additionally, Torino have only earned a point in the last five Serie A games against Inter. Ivan Juric’s 3-4-1-2 formation will likely feature Duván Zapata and Antonio Sanabria in attack.

Karol Linetty is suspended for this fixture, while Perr Schuurs and Gvidas Gineitis, among others, are ruled out due to injuries.
