Inter hoping to pick up a win in final home match of the season.

Following a dominant five-goal triumph over Lazio last weekend, Serie A champions Inter Milan aim to secure victory in their final home game of the season against the Biancocelesti this Sunday at San Siro.

Inter

Serie A champions Inter will be looking to pick up a win in their final home game of the season when they welcome Lazio to the San Siro in the penultimate clash of the season.

The Big Grass Snake [DWWLW] have 92 points [29W, 5D, & 2L] ahead of the weekend’s fixture with the Eagles, having swept relegation-threatened Frosinone aside in a 5-0 win. Five different goal scorers placed their names on the scoreboard, with Lautaro Martínez [80’] and Marcus Thuram [84’] bagging the 4th and 5th goals, respectively.

The Nerazzurri, who have now kept 21 clean sheets in a single Serie A season for the first time in club history, swept Lazio aside in a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture back in December 2023. A win here would leave Inter with a league double over Lazio in Serie A for the first time since 2016/17.

Victory would also leave Inter with a four-game winning streak over the visitors, having won the last three games across all competitions against Lazio, including a 3-0 win in January in the Italian Super Cup.

The familiar 3—5—2 will remain in place, with Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martínez, who got off the bench last time out, in attack.

Lazio

Lazio are in 7th place on the Serie A table, hoping to leapfrog 6th-placed Roma, who are only one point ahead. The visitors have 59 points from 18 wins, 5 draws, and 13 losses, having gone five games without defeat (WWWDW).

Last weekend, Lazio picked up a comfortable 2-0 win over relegation-threatened Empoli. A goal from Patric in first-half injury time and another from Matías Vecino in the 89th minute secured the home win for the Eagles.

On Sunday, the Biancocelesti will be keen to earn another victory in their final away match of the season. However, the last time Lazio picked up a win against Inter at the Meazza stadium in Serie A was back on March 31, 2019.

A 3-4-2-1 formation with Ciro Immobile in attack is expected for this fixture. Alessio Romagnoli is suspended for Sunday’s game, while Luigi Sepe is ruled out due to injury.
