Everton welcomes already-relegated Sheffield for final home game.

Everton aim to extend their unbeaten streak to five games as they host already-relegated Sheffield United at Goodison Park this Saturday, hoping to bounce back from a disappointing draw with Luton.

Everton

Everton retained 15th place despite their three-game winning run ending with a 1-1 draw against Luton Town. Dominic Calvert-Lewin put the Blues in the lead from the penalty spot before Elijah Adebayo's fine finish restored parity at Kenilworth Road, denying Everton the win.

The Toffees, with a record of [LWWWD] and 37 points (12 wins, 9 draws, and 15 losses), go into the weekend with little to play for other than an unlikely 14th-place finish, having already secured their Premier League place for next season.

On Saturday, Everton, who have lost their final home league game just once in the last eight campaigns (6 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss), aim to return to winning ways as they host already-relegated Sheffield. Sean Dyche expressed, "We want to give a performance. We want to win. I think afterwards, so they tell me, last year was so different, it might be the first time in a number of years we can have a walk round the pitch in a fashion that is rewarding for the players and fans."

The Blues have been strong at home, winning their last three home games since a 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth in the final home game of the 2019–20 season. However, Everton have struggled against Sheffield United, losing five of their last seven home league matches against them, including the last two consecutive games.

A 4-4-1-1 formation with Dominic Calvert-Lewin leading the attack is expected against Sheffield.

Sheffield United

Already relegated, Sheffield United, who have lost each of their last five games [LLLLL], sit at the bottom of the league table with 16 points [3W, 7D, & 26L]. Life in the Championship is just two games away for the Blades.

The Blades suffered a 3-1 loss to Nottingham Forest last weekend, shipping 100 goals in total this season. This is the joint-highest total by a side in a single Premier League season alongside Swindon Town in 1993–94.

Although Sheffield have lost their final away game in each of their last four Premier League campaigns, they would be keen to extend their fine away record over Everton. They have won more Premier League games on the road against the Blues than against any other opponent [3].

A 3—5—2 formation with Cameron Archer and Ben Brereton Díaz in attack is expected against Everton. Anel Ahmedhodžić, who picked up a red card in the game against the Tricky Trees, is suspended for the weekend’s game.

Sheffield will also be without as many as seven players for this fixture against Everton.
