Unbeaten Brighton face fellow unbeaten Forest in weekend clash.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest, both aiming to extend their unbeaten Premier League runs and climb the table, clash at Falmer Stadium this Sunday, promising a thrilling encounter.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Fabian Hürzeler’s fairy tale run with Brighton continued in the EFL Cup, where the Seagulls picked up a 3-2 win over Wolves in the third round. The victory came after last weekend’s goalless draw against newly promoted Ipswich Town.

After successive draws, Brighton [WWDD] slipped three places down the table to 6th place, while having eight points on the board after four Premier League games [2W, 2D, 0L]. Turning the four-game unbeaten run to five would see Brighton remain unbeaten in that many opening games in the PL for the first time in the competition’s history despite Hürzeler’s fears.

"I'm not surprised. I think they [Nottingham] have great individual players. They have a good style of play. They have a good compactness. They defend well," Hürzeler said in a pre-match press conference. "They have very good transition moments, so when they win the ball, they move it quickly. They made a great start in the Premier League, and I'm not surprised. It will be a big challenge for us," he added.

A 4—2—3—1 with Danny Welbeck in attack is expected on Sunday against the Tricky Trees. João Pedro is in doubt for this fixture. "He will train with the team on Friday, and then we have to see how it's going – if he can train fully, if he can do all the movements. We won't take any risk, but he will be part of the training," the Brighton boss said.

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest pulled off the biggest upset in the Premier League this season after becoming the first side to defeat red-hot Liverpool with a 1-0 win last weekend.

A single goal from the substitute, Callum Hudson-Odoi, steered the Tricky Trees to their second win of the season, having alternated between a draw and a win (DWDW).

Nottingham, who sit right below the Seagulls with the same number of points (8 points: 2W, 2D, 0L), will be looking to leapfrog Brighton when both sides meet at the Falmer Stadium on Sunday.

Escaping defeat would leave the Tricky Trees unbeaten in five opening Premier League games for the first time since the 1995-96 season.

A 4-2-3-1 formation with Chris Wood is expected for this weekend’s clash against the Seagulls. Ibrahim Sangare and Willy Boly are doubts, while Danilo is ruled out.
