Zirkzee scores as Manchester United sink Fulham

The second-half goal from Zirkzee was to be the only goal of the game when Manchester United won 1-0 at home to Fulham in the Premier League.

A goal was scored right at the death with three minutes left to play, when Joshua Zirkzee netted, with an assist by Alejandro Garnacho, to make it 1-0 for Manchester United.

Goal scorer Zirkzee, who was making his United debut, and assist maker Alejandro Garnacho, who walked away with the Premier League's 'Goal of the Season' last term, both came on as substitutes one minute after the hour mark.

'It showed that subs are very important. It's great in the first game to bring on a sub, and he ends up winning us the game. It's good for the team process and the spirit of the group,' Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag told Sky Sports.

Manchester United's next Premier League games are against Brighton & Hove Albion (away) on 24 August, Manchester United (home) on 1 September and Southampton (away) on 14 September.
