Borussia Dortmund clinched a dominant 4-2 home win at Signal Iduna Park against Heidenheim, propelling them to the summit of the Bundesliga table after three games played. They hold a narrow one-point lead over Heidenheim, with Heidenheim positioned in second place.

Borussia Dortmund started the match best and took the lead when Donyell Malen netted in the 12th minute, with an assist by Karim Adeyemi, making it 1-0.

In the 17th minute, Karim Adeyemi increased the lead for Borussia Dortmund with an assist by Julian Brandt.

Heidenheim's Marvin Pieringer made it 2-1 in the 39th minute as he found the net, with an assist by Haktab Omar Traore.

In the 41st minute, Karim Adeyemi further increased the lead for Borussia Dortmund with an assist by Julian Ryerson.

It took until the 74th minute before Maximilian Breunig reduced the score for Heidenheim.

"We played a good match. The conceded goals were unnecessary. I took self-belief from the U21s," Karim Adeyemi told DAZN.

"I'm happy about the two goals; I hoped that I would get a third one but the three points are more important," he added.
