The game's only goal came in the 38th minute, a stroke of luck after Maximilian Wöber's own goal. This unconventional score followed some breathtaking footwork from Kylian Mbappé, although the French superstar's night took an unfortunate turn.
Mbappé was forced off in the 90th minute due to a broken nose, an injury from a clash of heads during an aerial contest. With his shirt bloodied and clutching his nose, he headed to the hospital for assessment. Didier Deschamps admitted, "His nose is not good at all," lamenting the turn of events.
