Torino Ascends to League Summit with Win Over Hellas Verona

Hellas Verona's Paweł Dawidowicz faced an early setback as he was sent off in the 21st minute.

Torino took control early, with Antonio Sanabria netting the opening goal after just 10 minutes, putting them ahead 1-0.

Hellas Verona quickly responded to level the score at 1-1, courtesy of a Grīgorīs Kastanos goal brilliantly assisted by Darko Lazović in the 12th minute.

However, Torino regained their lead when Duván Zapata, assisted by Valentino Lazaro, found the back of the net in the 33rd minute.

Che Adams further extended Torino's dominance by scoring in the 79th minute, making it 3-1.

A glimmer of hope emerged for Hellas Verona as Daniel Mosquera reduced the deficit to 3-2 during stoppage time, with an assist by Reda Belahyane.

As the dust settled, Torino celebrated a hard-fought 3-2 victory at Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi, climbing to the top of the Serie A standings with a one-point lead over Napoli after five games played. Hellas Verona holds the 10th position in the league.

Looking ahead, Hellas Verona's upcoming Serie A fixtures include an away game against Como on 29 September, followed by home clashes against Hellas Verona on 4 October and Monza on 21 October. Meanwhile, Torino will host Lazio on 29 September, travel to face Inter on 5 October, and then take on Cagliari away on 20 October.
