Sevilla in search of maiden season win in Getafe clash.

As Sevilla seek their first win of the season amidst injury woes, they face a familiar adversary in Getafe, whose strong history at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán promises a captivating encounter.

Sevilla

Sevilla's struggles continued with a disappointing 2-0 home loss to Girona in their last La Liga fixture. Goals in each half condemned García Pimienta's men to their second defeat of the season, leaving them 19th in the league after a poor run of four consecutive home defeats.

Pimienta, clearly frustrated, attributed the loss to missed opportunities. "I think the first half was ours; we created a lot, and we also have to be much more decisive in our area," he said. This marks the worst home form for the hosts since August 2001.

Despite their current struggles, Sevilla have historically fared well against Getafe, winning eight of their last ten league meetings [8W, 0D, 2L]. However, with a tough start to the season, García Pimienta is under mounting pressure to secure his first win, following two draws and two losses [DLDL].

The coach is expected to set up his side in a 4—3—3 formation, with Belgian forward Dodi Lukebakio likely leading the attack, alongside Nigerian duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke. Sevilla’s squad, however, has been hit hard by injuries.

Loïc Badé and Albert Sambi Lokonga both picked up knocks during the international break, adding to an already extensive injury list. Suso remains sidelined with a knee injury, while Lucas Ocampos is ruled out with a muscle issue. Additionally, Pimienta will be without Saúl Niguez, who is serving a suspension following a red card against Mallorca.

Getafe

Getafe earned a goalless draw against Real Sociedad, leaving them in 16th place before Match Day 5. This match marked Getafe's third consecutive draw this season [DDD].

Despite their slow start, Getafe can find confidence in their fine record against Sevilla, having played one game less. They have defeated the Andalusian side 14 times in La Liga, more than any other opponent.

Additionally, the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium has been a rewarding venue for Getafe. With five wins there, the visitors have recorded more away victories at this stadium than at any other in Spain’s top flight.

For this match, manager Bordalás Jiménez is expected to stick with a 4—4—2 formation, having Christantus Uche and Carles Pérez leading the attack. Getafe are without any new injury worries, with Spanish forward Borja Mayoral being the only notable absentee for the Azulones.
