Real Madrid Holds Nerve Against Deportivo Alavés' Resurgence, Securing 3-2 Win

In the 40th minute, Kylian Mbappé increased the lead for Real Madrid with an assist by Jude Bellingham.

The La Liga clash between Real Madrid and Deportivo Alavés concluded with Real Madrid clinching a thrilling 3-2 victory. Initially seizing control with a 2-0 lead, Real Madrid faced a resilient challenge from Deportivo Alavés in the latter stages but ultimately held on to secure the three points.

Real Madrid were quickest out of the blocks, going 1-0 up when Lucas Vázquez netted in the first minute on a pass from Vinícius Júnior. Straight after the break, Rodrygo found the net to increase the team's lead to 2-0.

Real Madrid have now won four games in a row. However, with five minutes left to play, Deportivo Alavés' Carlos Benavídez reduced the deficit, assisted by Ander Guevara. Deportivo Alavés pulled one back again in the 86th minute as Kike García scored with an assist from Carlos Benavídez.

The result leaves Deportivo Alavés in eighth place, while Real Madrid firmly hold onto second place, four points behind FC Barcelona. The result also means that Real Madrid remain undefeated this season after taking points in seven straight games.

In their upcoming La Liga fixtures, Real Madrid will face Atlético Madrid (away) on 29 September, Real Betis (home) on 5 October, and Celta de Vigo (away) on 19 October.
