PSV strengthen title grip with another win

League leaders PSV continue to impress with a dazzling 7-1 win away against Almere City. This latest triumph extends PSV's lead in the Eredivisie, placing them two points ahead of second-placed FC Utrecht. For Almere City, the result leaves them struggling at the bottom in 18th place.

PSV wasted no time in asserting their dominance. Guus Til opened the scoring after just 10 minutes with an assist from Noa Lang, making it 1-0. Five minutes later, Luuk de Jong doubled the lead thanks to a precise pass from Joey Veerman.

Almere City managed to pull one back in the 57th minute when Kornelius Hansen scored following a Jochem Ritmeester van de Kamp assist. However, the comeback was short-lived as PSV soon reasserted control.

Couhaib Driouech added to PSV's tally in the 65th minute, with Hirving Lozano providing the assist. Malik Tillman then made it 4-1 in the 71st minute, once again courtesy of a Joey Veerman assist.

PSV's relentless attack forced an own-goal in the 78th minute, pushing their lead to 5-1. Just five minutes later, Hirving Lozano himself found the net after an assist by Ryan Flamingo, stretching the score to 6-1.

Ricardo Pepi concluded the scoring spree seven minutes later, with an assist by Couhaib Driouech, finalizing a dominant 7-1 victory for PSV.

Looking ahead, Almere City will face FC Groningen on 31 August, Heracles Almelo on 15 September, and FC Twente (home) on 22 September. PSV's upcoming fixtures include Go Ahead Eagles on 1 September, NEC on 14 September, and an away game against Fortuna Sittard on 22 September.
