NEC Held Scoreless as PSV Secures Victory
PSV continue their unbeaten run with upcoming fixtures against Fortuna Sittard on 22 September, Willem II on 28 September, and Sparta Rotterdam at home on 5 October. Meanwhile, NEC will face Heracles Almelo on 21 September, Feyenoord on 28 September, and NAC Breda away on 5 October.
A stellar showing by PSV saw them score two goals and shut out NEC in their Eredivisie clash at Philips Stadion. The home team secured a dominant 2-0 win to claim victory.
PSV started the match best and took the lead early when Luuk de Jong made his mark with a penalty after 11 minutes, making it 1-0. They increased their lead to 2-0 when Guus Til netted with an assist by Olivier Boscagli in the 16th minute.
The second half was goalless, and the match ended with a 2-0 win for PSV. NEC were left with a man down early on when Kodai Sano was sent off in the 9th minute.
With this win, PSV have secured five straight victories, leaving them at the top of the table. Unfortunately for NEC, they remain in eighth place.
