Manchester United claim the win at home against Newcastle United

An even game saw Manchester United just edge out Newcastle United at home in the Premier League on Wednesday. The game finished 3-2 to Manchester United.

The match was evenly poised until Manchester United took the lead in the 31st minute. Kobbie Mainoo netted, courtesy of an assist by Amad Diallo.

Straight after the break, Anthony Gordon made his mark and equalized for Newcastle United.

In the 57th minute, Amad Diallo once again made the difference, giving Manchester United the lead.

With only six minutes left to play, Manchester United's Rasmus Højlund increased the lead, assisted by Bruno Fernandes.

In stoppage time, Lewis Hall scored, reducing the score to 3-2, but it proved too little, too late.

Manchester United have now won two, drawn one, and lost two of their last five games. They have scored 8 goals and conceded 10.

Newcastle United, meanwhile, have two wins and one draw over their last five, with 12 goals for and 8 against.

In total, Manchester United have netted 55 goals in the Premier League: 31 at home and 24 away.

Looking ahead, Manchester United's next Premier League game is against Brighton & Hove Albion (away) on 19 May. Newcastle United face Brentford (away) on the same day.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Arsenal picked up a narrow 1-0 victory against Manchester United, Aston Villa drew 3-3 against Liverpool, Manchester City defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 and Chelsea won 2-1 against Brighton & Hove Albion.
