Jorge de Frutos and Florian Lejeune play pivotal roles in home win against Granada

Rayo Vallecano were left with a man down early on when Óscar Trejo was sent off in the 5th minute. However, this didn't deter them from putting up a strong performance.

Jorge de Frutos increased Rayo Vallecano's lead to 2-0 in the 80th minute with an assist from Sergio Rodelas. Granada managed to reduce the deficit in the final minutes, with Lucas Boyé scoring from another Sergio Rodelas assist.

Rayo Vallecano have now won two, drawn one, and lost two of their last five games, scoring four goals and conceding six. Granada, on the other hand, have only one win and one draw, with five goals scored and ten conceded.

Elsewhere in La Liga, Cádiz secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Getafe. Atlético Madrid triumphed 1-0 over Celta de Vigo, while Valencia drew 0-0 against Rayo Vallecano. Real Betis emerged victorious with a 3-2 win against Almería, and FC Barcelona defeated Real Sociedad 2-0.

Rayo Vallecano have a total of 29 goals in La Liga, with 18 scored at home and 11 away. Their upcoming fixtures include a challenging away match against FC Barcelona on 19 May and a home game against Athletic Club on 25 May.

Granada's next games see them facing Celta de Vigo at home on 19 May and Girona away on 25 May. On Wednesday, Rayo Vallecano outlasted Granada in a close encounter, winning 2-1 at home, with Florian Lejeune putting them ahead after 23 minutes.
