Ipswich Town in search of maiden Premier League win in Spurs clash.

As Tottenham Hotspur aim to bounce back from their Europa League setback, they welcome a struggling Ipswich Town to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, hoping to exploit their dominance over newly promoted teams and end Ipswich's dismal run against London sides.

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs saw a potential three-game winning streak across all competitions fade after Thursday’s Europa League defeat to Galatasaray, where they were reduced to ten men in the 60th minute. Dominic Solanke scored in the 69th minute to bring Spurs within touching distance, yet Victor Osimhen's first-half brace kept the Turkish side comfortably ahead.

With an upcoming fixture against newly-promoted Ipswich Town, Spurs aim to return to form. Currently in 7th place, they've alternated between wins and losses in their last five Premier League games (WLWLW) and most recently secured a 4-1 victory over Aston Villa.

Tottenham hopes to deliver a similar result against Ipswich, despite winning only three of their ten Premier League encounters with them (3W, 3D, 4L). Ignoring their previous record against Ipswich, Ange Postecoglou's squad is buoyed by their strong performance against newly promoted teams, winning 32 of their last 36 such home matches (32W, 2D, 2L).

The attack for the weekend’s clash is expected to feature Dominic Solanke, Mikey Moore, and Brennan Johnson. However, Richarlison, who was forced off after assisting in the win over Villa, remains sidelined for this encounter.

Ipswich Town

Despite going down to ten men in the 77th minute after Kalvin Phillips was sent off, Ipswich Town earned a point in a 1-1 draw against Leicester City in last weekend’s game. The draw helped the newly promoted side put an end to a three-game losing run in the Premier League [DLLLD]. However, it wasn't enough to lift the Tractor Boys, who are in 18th place, out of the bottom three.

Along with Wolves, Ipswich Town are one of the two sides yet to pick up a Premier League victory in the current campaign. Considering their failure to perform against teams from the capital, Ipswich’s 10-game losing run could stretch even further. Ipswich have lost their last five Premier League away games against London sides, conceding at least two goals each time, a total of 16—an embarrassing record they would be keen to end.

A 4—2—3—1 formation with Liam Delap in attack is expected from Kieran McKenna for the weekend’s game. Kalvin Phillips is suspended, having received a red card in the game against the Foxes.
