Germany Claims Three Points in European Championship Opener Against Scotland

Germany kicked off their European Championship campaign in style with a dominating 5-1 victory over Scotland at the Allianz Arena. Early on, Florian Wirtz opened the scoring for Germany in the 10th minute, thanks to a sharp assist from Joshua Kimmich.

Shortly after, Jamal Musiala doubled their lead in the 19th minute, with Kai Havertz setting him up seamlessly. Scotland's troubles compounded when Ryan Porteous was sent off just before halftime.

Kai Havertz further capitalized by scoring a penalty in the 45th minute, sealing a strong 3-0 lead before the break. In the second half, Niclas Füllkrug added to the scoreline in the 68th minute, showcasing Germany's attacking prowess.

An unfortunate own goal for Scotland in the 87th minute took the game to 4-1. As the match drew to a close, Emre Can netted Germany's fifth, assisted by Thomas Müller, to round off a convincing win.

Next up, Germany faces Hungary on 19 June, followed by Switzerland on 23 June, while Scotland prepares to take on Switzerland and Hungary on the same dates.
