FC Twente were clinical in their 5-0 demolition of Almere City in the Eredivisie on Sunday. Sem Steijn opened the scoring just 9 minutes into the match, courtesy of an assist from Bart van Rooij. As the first half drew to a close, Steijn struck again in the 45th minute, doubling the lead for Twente.

After the break, Sam Lammers extended the advantage by converting a chance in the 55th minute, assisted by Anass Salah-Eddine. Twente's dominance was further evident as Ricky van Wolfswinkel made it 4-0 in the 73rd minute. Just two minutes later, Anass Salah-Eddine got on the scoresheet himself, thanks to an assist from Mees Hilgers.

This was Almere City's sixth consecutive game without a win, leaving them in a precarious position in 17th place. Meanwhile, FC Twente's victory bolstered their standing, placing them firmly in 4th place.
