Parma faced a challenge when they visited Lecce in Serie A, and the encounter lived up to expectations, concluding in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Patrick Dorgu opened the scoring for Lecce in the 32nd minute, assisted by Ylber Ramadani. Drama struck early in the second half as Lecce's Frédéric Guilbert was sent off in the 47th minute, followed by Parma's Matteo Cancellieri seeing red in the 58th minute.
Despite being down a man, Lecce's Nikola Krstović increased their lead in the 59th minute. However, Parma reduced the score to 2-1 in extra time, when Antoine Hainaut netted, assisted by Anas Haj Mohamed.
Parma showed resilience and managed to score an equaliser in the 90th minute through Pontus Almqvist, once again with an assist from Anas Haj Mohamed.
The result places Lecce in 15th place in the table, while Parma sit just above them in 14th. Looking ahead, Lecce face Milan (away) on 27 September, Udinese (away) on 5 October, and Fiorentina (home) on 20 October. Parma's upcoming fixtures include Cagliari (home) on 30 September, Bologna (away) on 6 October, and Como (away) on 19 October.
