Double Trouble: Wittek's Goals Secure VfL Bochum 1848's Win Over FC Union Berlin

In Sunday's Bundesliga showdown, VfL Bochum 1848 emerged triumphant with a thrilling 4-3 victory over FC Union Berlin at Stadion An der Alten Försterei.

The hosts, FC Union Berlin, started strong and took an early lead when Maximilian Wittek netted after just 10 minutes, assisted by Moritz Broschinski, making it 1-0.

Maximilian Wittek doubled the advantage for VfL Bochum 1848 in the 23rd minute, benefitting from a Patrick Osterhage assist.

Adding to the excitement, Keven Schlotterbeck made it 3-0 for VfL Bochum 1848 in the 33rd minute, courtesy of a Felix Passlack assist.

FC Union Berlin fought back 57 minutes into the match as Yorbe Vertessen scored, assisted by Robin Gosens, narrowing the gap to 3-1.

Just five minutes later, Chris Bedia brought FC Union Berlin even closer with a goal assisted by András Schäfer, making it 3-2.

Philipp Hofmann quickly responded, extending VfL Bochum 1848's lead to 4-2 in the 64th minute with an assist from Felix Passlack.

Benedict Hollerbach kept the hosts in contention by scoring two minutes later, with an assist by Brenden Aaronson, closing the match at a 4-3 scoreline.

FC Union Berlin have now drawn one and lost four of their last five games, scoring four and conceding 12 goals. Meanwhile, VfL Bochum 1848 have two wins and one draw, with 9 goals for and 9 against.
